Exposure to Loud Noise

People with prolonged exposure to loud noise either recreational or occupational ,are at risk of developing Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) and tinnitus.
Many studies overseas and locally have documented and discussed this issue.

Enjoying music that is too loud either through speakers or headphones have been shown to lead to NIHL and tinnitus.
People that work in factory, construction with machinery as well as with firearms are all very prone to have NIHL if they are working without proper use of Hearing Protection Device.

National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) recommends only 8 hours of exposure for 85dB noise . For every 3dBAs over 85dBA, the permissible exposure time before possible damage can occur is cut in half.
